Nayanaya Pictures was commissioned to run the UNiTE Film and community workshops campaign(from 2011) and Xoliswa Sithole is the Director of the Festival. This is a United Nations initiative that was started by Ban Ki-moon and South Africa was the first country to host this event which deals with the 16 days of activism every December focusing on violence against women and children. The event is supported by The UNFPA, Unicef and Department of Arts and Culture and other stake holders.
